OUR STORY

The Grumpy Grandpa’s Workshop started in 2008 at the rear of the Goodna Neighbourhood House in a small double garage. With the help of the G.N.H. and the Ipswich City Council, we soon gained a good reputation by helping people with special needs, showing them how to do woodturning. Through grants we were able to expand, but our shed soon be came too small.

We were then offered the use of a large workshop at Westfalen Parklands, owned by Challenge Employment and Training. However, due to Covid,  we have recently been asked to vacate their premises, so we are currently looking for a new workshop.

We cover various areas of woodworking and are looking for people with knowledge of working with wood who are willing to pass on their skills to others.

Our members carry blue cards for working with children and we are fully insured. We are  happy to have  both male and female members.  So if you have an interest in all things wood, come and join us. We would love to have you in our group.
